Meet Dr. Garrett Kawata

Dr. Garrett Kawata has practiced orthodontics in Corona for over 30 years. Having grown up in California and raised his own family here, he understands the needs of the patients and families he treats. He is committed to orthodontic excellence and is dedicated to making your orthodontic treatment a positive experience.

After attending the University of Southern California for his undergraduate studies, Dr. Kawata earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. He then returned to the USC School of Dentistry for his advanced specialty degree in orthodontics. He continues to be involved at the USC School of Dentistry, Department of Graduate Orthodontics, as a clinical professor. His students have voted him "Teacher of the Year" four times!

Professional affiliations and continuing education are important parts of Dr. Kawata's personal and professional commitments as an orthodontist. Dr. Kawata is a past President of the Southern California component of the prestigious Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, and is also a Director of the national board thereof. He is heavily involved in continuing education in order to offer his patients and students the highest quality cutting-edge technology in orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Kawata is happily married and a very proud father to their two daughters. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his family, play golf, and travel. He is thrilled to be a part of the Corona community and to share the gift of a beautiful smile with all of his wonderful patients.

Meet Dr. Allie Kawata

Dr. Allie Kawata grew up in Orange County. She graduated from Chapman University magna cum laude with program honors. Following Dr. Garrett Kawata's footsteps, she attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, then went on to the University of Southern California for her residency in orthodontics. Upon her graduation from USC in 2022, Dr. Allie earned multiple awards for her accomplishments during residency, including the Harry L. Dougherty Clinical Excellence Award. She is currently working to become board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. In 2023, Dr. Allie also had the honor of teaching the pre-clinical typodont course in the USC Graduate Orthodontics department alongside visiting faculty from Japan!

In her free time, Dr. Allie enjoys trying new restaurants and cooking Japanese food. She lives in Orange County with her husband and dozens of houseplants.
